Terms and conditions

The conditions for working with your documents in Folio.

Last updated: September 23, 2026

You keep your files and the rights to them. We perform the action you request and provide a result that you should check before using.

1. About Folio and these terms

Folio Docs (“Folio”) provides tools for viewing, organizing and transforming documents. These terms govern the website, accounts, tools and community. Contact us at support@foliodocs.net. By using the service, you accept these terms. If you use an organization’s account, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it.

2. Accounts and access

You may use Folio only if you can accept these terms under the law that applies to you. Minors need any authorization and supervision required by that law. Keep your session secure, provide accurate account information and tell us about unauthorized access. Some features require a signed-in account or a verified plan.

3. Your documents and rights

You or the relevant owner retain all rights to your documents. You allow us to make temporary copies and transform them only as needed to perform the requested action and deliver its result. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit the documents, including where they contain another person’s data. Processing a file does not transfer its ownership to Folio.

4. How the tools work

On the website, selecting a file can prepare a preview on your device. Upload for processing starts when you choose Run or the equivalent action. Processing may take place on your device or on systems that provide the service. Availability depends on file format, content and available resources. If a tool cannot complete a task, we display an appropriate notice.

5. Results, OCR and signatures

Conversions, text recognition, translations and automated answers may contain mistakes, omissions or layout changes. Check figures, tables, names and material you intend to rely on professionally. These tools do not replace professional advice or certified translation. Keep your original file: converting a digitally signed PDF to another format does not transfer its digital signature to the result. The signature remains on the original PDF.

6. Downloads and temporary storage

Folio is not permanent storage or a backup service. Uploaded originals and conversion results remain available for recovery for three minutes after a task completes. Downloading a file or reloading the page does not restart that period. Save your result to your device in time. The privacy policy explains deletion and the different treatment of account and conversation data.

7. Plans, prices and purchases

Folio offers Free and Pro plans. Before you confirm a payment, the available purchase channel must display the final price, applicable taxes, duration, renewal and cancellation method. Pro access follows confirmation of the purchase by the relevant provider; signing in or restoring access does not create a new charge. Plan benefits are those shown at purchase. Queue priority does not guarantee a completion time. Manage a subscription through the channel where you bought it. Refunds and withdrawal rights follow the purchase terms and mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

8. Responsible use and community

Do not use Folio to violate rights, distribute unlawful content, impersonate others, introduce malicious code, access another account or bypass access and resource controls. Posts and replies in the Folio Community are public. Do not include private documents or personal information. Other users’ answers are not Folio guarantees. You may report abusive content through our contact address; we may take proportionate steps to protect the service.

9. Folio and third-party rights

The Folio brand, design and software, and third-party components, retain their respective rights. Access does not transfer ownership. External links and identity or purchase services you choose may have their own terms. Their presence gives Folio no additional rights to your documents.

10. Availability and responsibility

Maintenance, interruptions and errors can occur. When we find a material issue, we aim to explain and correct it. Responsibility for an incident is assessed under applicable law. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded or limit mandatory consumer rights. Read tool notices and check each result before using it.

11. Suspension, changes and contact

We may limit access for security risks or breaches of these terms, using proportionate measures and an explanation where possible. You may stop using Folio and request help with your account. Material changes to these terms will be communicated before they apply when required and will not change a past purchase retroactively. These terms do not impose a foreign court or waive rights where you live. Questions and complaints: support@foliodocs.net.
